All members are invited to volunteer to serve on a SIR Foundation committee. We encourage our members to become an active part in the planning and implementation of SIR Foundation activities. Below, you will find a full list of SIR Foundation committees and their descriptions.

SIR Foundation Committees

   

1. Clinical Research Division


   

2. Development Committee

Recruits financial resources to support SIR Foundation's research programs and operations.


   

3. Grant Review Study Section

The Grant Review SubCommittee reviews grant applications and determines the number of additional reviewers that are necessary based on the number of applications. The SubCommittee recruits Grant Review Study Section members based on their areas of expertise that are compatible with the grant application areas of research.


   

4. Grant Review Sub-Committee

The Grant Review Committee oversees the Foundation's peer review process for grant applications and administers and develops the Foundation's grant programs. - Responsible for the development/revision of grant program guidelines, assignment of grants to reviewers, and review of grant recipient reports and requests. - Recommend funding determinations to the SIR Foundation Board. - Participation in conference calls as needed to discuss program/grant issues.


   

5. Leadership Gifts Committee

Cultivate and solicit the capital campaign's top individual prospects, generating gift commitments to meet or exceed the goal of the capital campaign.


   

6. Legs For Life Committee

The Legs For LifeĀ® Committee is responsible for overseeing the SIR Legs For LifeĀ® - National Screening Program for PVD Leg Pain. The Committee assists with the promotion, education, and planning of the program and shall work to ensure that the program continues to fulfill its mission.


   

7. Research Education Division

The objective of the Research Education Committee is to provide researchers specializing in interventional radiology research with educational opportunities that will improve their understanding of research and thereby increase the number of skilled investigators.


   

8. Research Policy Division

The Research Policy Committee seeks to collaborate and build relationships with government and other funding agencies in developing programs and tools to further innovative research in interventional radiology. - Conduct Review & make funding recommendations for SIR Foundation Grant programs. - Review the current state of Interventional Radiology Research to identify areas to emphasize in the RFA process of SIR Foundation Grants. - Interact with funding agencies to advance research in Interventional Radiology. - Communicate the advances in and opportunities for research in interventional radiology to SIR membership, SIR BOT, members of the scientific community and the public.
