We are just starting to do vertebroplastys at our Hospital--we have only done 10 or 15 so we do not have a lot of experience but it seems as though there should be other areas outside of the spine that would benefit.

We now have a patient that we were asked to consult on. She is in her early 70's with multiple old compression fxs of the lumbar spine but she fell in November 99 fracturing her sacrum at S1-2 . The pain has actually worsened with time and she has been bedridden for the past month. (It hurts her too much to sit up). Is anyone treating sacral fractures--any advice ?

Thanks
