I routinely do an aortogram in these cases. I find it easier to find the bronchial artery this way, and it also shows any transpleural collaterals from intercostal arteries which are often present in these cases. I also always do these cases under general anaesthesia, with douoble bronchial intubation, rather than simple endotracheal intubation. This makes our job much easier. The patients get Pavulon, and the images are spectacular ( no breathing articfact). Also any coughing or hemoptysis is controlled.
