I have seen anatomic variants in about 1% of patients overall. So far there have been 4 patterns:

Complete absence of 1 UA (UA branches replaced to the varian A) - I've seen 8 cases out of >580

Complete absence of both UAs (all flow from the ovarians) - I've seen 2 cases out of >580

Replacement of some branches of the UA to the ovarian - I've seen 2 cases out of >580

Absence of a main UA trunk with multiple UAs arising independently from the Ant Div of the IIA - This is probably the rarest. I have never seen a case personally.

There also are cases of collateral flow from the Ovarian (see my comments on case #2 this month).

This will be reported in the December issue of MITAT.
