But the wire can not stay there during the cavography, and after the cavography when you insert the wire to exchange the pigtail for the sheath, the wire may inadvertently slip into the gonadal vein from the jugular approach as described here, or the ascending lumbar vein from a femoral approach as described on a case report on December 96 issue of JVIR pp 917-919.
Once the wire strayed off course, it will make little difference what filter one uses.
