A good result. We have used both the Amplatz thrombectomy device and disruption with a regular pigtail catheter supplemented by tPA with good effect in 16 patients over 5 years. The second patient had a cardiac arrest on the angio table and following resuscitation he did not receive tPA. He subsequently developed pulmonary hypertension. I do not know of any good evidence for particular doses of tPA, we usually give a 5mg bolus followed by an infusion at 1mg/hour.
