I have embolized some benign bleeding tumors of the liver, most notably
a case of bleeding peliosis hepatis. In this case we use 100micron PVA
and carefully embolized just the posterior segment of the right lobe which
produced necrosis of that segment with ultimate resolution and resorption
of the blood and ischemic liver over a 6 month period. No rebleeding
at 2 year followup. I think that we probably have a bigger role to play
here.
