I had a quick look through Medline and could not find any reported
experience with the use of stents in this scenario. I would expect that the results
of angioplasty might be similar to those seen and described in
Case 497_09 -- Renal artery stenosis in a child resistant to PTA of this month's Case Club--
(see posted comments by Dave Hunter and Bob Vogelzang).
Surgery has been quite successful in these cases, and I expect I'd
choose the same if it were my child.
