Your experience mirrors mine almost exactly. The most important issue
here is the unpredictability of the response to angioplasty and as you
say, we try them all but definitely have not stented any of them
because of the uncertainty of long term durability of stents.
I recall some time back that I had one of these lesions that didn't
respond and I called Charlie Tegtmeyer about what to do. He stated
emphatically that the lesion would not respond and further warned
against aggressive high-pressure dilatation because he had seen a few
very bad looking dissections which resulted from the maneuver. By
the way, my rupture was undoubtedly due to overdilatation.
