Another option would have been to embolize internal iliac artery at the origin and then, assuming there were no lumbars off of common iliac, proceed with fem-fem BPG and ligation of external iliac artery just proximal to deep iliac circumflex and inf. epigastric a. The aneurysm would then be expected to thrombose up to the aortoiliac bifurcation. As to the F/U in this particular patient, an isotope angiogram might be helpful.
