I'm not aware of any data re: renal artery branches being trapped by stents specifically. Sapoval et al (AJR 1996;166:1173-1179) reported that 41% of hypogastric artery ostia that were covered by (bare) wallstents developed high grades stenoses or occlusions on angiographic follow up. I'm not sure you can infer a lot here with re: to renal arteries. Although the vessel sizes are much smaller here, obviously, suggesting a higher likelihood of subsequent occlusion, the Corinthian stent (which, by the way, seems to work great for renals) has less metal than a wallstent.
