I agree, at least intuitively, the last thing we should be doing is using a permanent occlusive agent (such as a coil). In regard to Dr. Rassuli's question about what catheter and what level to emobolize: I would think the closer to the fistula you can get, the better the embolization and the better the preservation of other vessels. This is the logic applied to other areas of embolotherapy. But then again, many appraoches work, including doing nothing at all.
