We reported a high flow priapism in a young child that we embolized with Gelfoam with good immediate and long term results ( Urology 1996, 48 (6): 949-952) . Before embolotherapy, our patient had all sort of treatments including surgery which had not worked. I have reservation to the use of microcoils for controlling priapism, and I am aware of one case report by Millward .et al, which I believe was published in Can Assoc Radiol 1996 or 7 who used a very distal microcoil and the patient developed postprocedural erectile difficulty. I used a 5Fcatheter with Internal diameter of 0.038, and embolized the pudendal artery on one side with Gel foam Pledgets . Using the tracker limits the pledget diameter to 0.016. Do we have to use 3 F catheter and go so peripheral when we are using Gel foam?
