I think the sudden passage of a fibroid may be fairly common, but I have also had several cases of what I call "crumbling fibroids" that shed tissue for weeks and months after embo. One patient passed several large pieces over several weeks, and later developed a severe infection. Some others with "crumbling fibroids" I've sent for D%C and they were cured.We're all getting the idea that an open cervix and dead fibroids is a bad combination. My question is: is anyone putting women on antibiotics when they pass substantial ammounts of tissue, and which one ,and for how long?
