Moni, I do not think that the attempt to treat the portal clot led to his demise; rather he was not salvageable when you met him. ALthough I might have attacked the problem differently (see above, I doubt any of us would have succeeded here
I agree that the HV clot may have been the bigger problem, as the PV clot seems chronic.
