I think hysteroscopy should be done in most of these patients followed by D&C as needed if there are retained necrotic portions of the infarcted fibroid. Infection is always the big concern and your index of suspicion has to be high if the cervix is open for any length of time.I am interested in knowing what the mechanism for this is? Did the UFE infarct some of the thin tissue in the submucosal area? Should we be getting MRI or Hysterosonograms on all of these patients?
