We have experienced this situation and have felt that if the "stalk" was less than 2-3 cm wide then it might be better taken out with surgery. The gyn felt that with the size (> 7cm) it might be difficult to remove without an open procedure, so the thought was that one might attempt subselective embo pre-op to make removal easier via the laproscope. Finally the Gyn decided not to attempt this either and we did a complete UFE. We have not had a problem now 6 weeks post.
